Masters of a Timeless Medium
Welcome to my blog! My name's Andrew, and I've got a couple objectives I hope to accomplish here. It will generally revolve around literature (and sometimes film), but beyond that is subject to change between book reviews, analyses, personal writing, etc. Each one will be given a different label for the readers' convenience.
1. Masters of a Timeless Medium- Authors have an almost limitless capacity to influence their readers. While much of the audience reaction is subjective, I believe some works might be considered objectively better than others. Indeed, the overarching goal of literature is to align itself closely to a truth- a theme- and allow the reader the pleasure of experiencing it. How closely, and how well, it portrays a truth is the measure of a great book. Posts under this label will examine how the authors constructed their story, and why.
2. Much Ado About Something- Although I think good writing is not completely a matter of opinion, it's undeniably connected to a reader's personal experience and emotional response. When I review a book, I'm just giving my opinions. There are some people who think fiction is a waste of time. I'd contend that the way it influences our minds and sense of morality makes these works' popularity much ado about something.
3. Movie Night- I like movies, too. Don't be surprised if I include some movie or tv reviews.
4. Poetry- I'll include some things I'm writing, too, just to keep it lively! This might help me stay motivated, as well.
So let's begin.
